Brendan Gall

Brendan Gall (born September 2, 1978) is a Canadian actor and writer.〔("Men With Brooms: Gall sees an Olympic dividend" ). ''Toronto Star'', September 30, 2010.〕 Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, he is based in Toronto, Ontario.
As an actor his screen credits include the television series ''Overruled!'', ''Men with Brooms''〔 and ''Good God'', as well as guest appearances in ''Straight Up'', ''Stargate: Atlantis'', ''Murdoch Mysteries'', ''Flashpoint'' and ''Covert Affairs''.
A graduate of the George Brown Theatre School, Gall is a playwright in residence at Toronto's Tarragon Theatre, and artistic director of his own theatre company, The Room.〔 His work as a playwright includes ''Panhandled'' (2004), ''A Quiet Place'' (2005), ''Alias Godot'' (2008) and ''Wide Awake Hearts'' (2010),〔("Wide Awake Hearts entertaining, a bit too glib" ). ''Toronto Star'', November 10, 2010.〕 while his screenwriting credits include the film ''Dakota'' and episodes of the television series ''The L.A. Complex'', and his radio credits include the CBC Radio drama series ''Afghanada''.
He was nominated for the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play in 2008 for ''Alias Godot'' and in 2011 for ''Wide Awake Hearts''. ''Wide Awake Hearts'' and ''A Quiet Place'' were published in book form by Coach House Books in 2010 under the title ''Minor Complications: Two Plays''. The title was a shortlisted nominee in the English-language drama category at the 2011 Governor General's Awards.〔("The Governor General's Literary Awards: The complete English list" ).
